Understand an image before you upload or share it
An image is more than what appears on screen. Its file also has pixel dimensions, a format, an aspect ratio, transparency behavior and sometimes embedded EXIF, XMP or text metadata.
Image Passport measures those properties locally in your browser. It separates detected facts from cautions: embedded metadata can contain harmless editing information, but it may also include device, date, author or location details.
Use the report as a starting point, then open the requirements checker when a form specifies exact KB, pixel or format limits.

Is my image uploaded?
No. File reading, pixel inspection and metadata-signature detection happen in your browser.
Does metadata detected mean the image contains GPS?
No. It means a known EXIF, XMP or text block exists. The passport warns that sensitive details may be present without claiming a specific field was found.
How is transparency checked?
The tool decodes the image locally and inspects its alpha channel for pixels that are not fully opaque.
Can this guarantee an upload form will accept my image?
No. Use the requirements checker for stated file-size, pixel and format limits. Portals may also apply content or biometric rules.
